TMG Marketing Efforts Recognized by American Marketing Association at NOVA Awards
(Des Moines, Iowa – June 3, 2010) – Des Moines-based TMG (The Members Group), was recently recognized by the American Marketing Association (AMA) for excellence in marketing with two Nova Awards, including Best of Category in Interactive-Social Media and second place in the B2B Campaign category.
“TMG is honored to have received these awards as we continue to strive for excellence in the card processing and payments industry. We believe that effective communication with our clients, and the industry in general, has allowed us to further drive new business and develop even stronger relationships with our current clients,” said Georgann Smith, TMG director of Marketing and Communications. “We have found that our strategy of producing thought provoking communications for our customers, and then listening to their feedback, has been much more effective than simply giving them information.”
TMG’s Best of Category Interactive-Social Media campaign outlined the company’s successful entry into the Blogosphere and Twittersverse. Its goal — develop new relationships with clients through two-way communication, to not only be a part of the conversation, but to lead it. Through the course of this campaign, TMG blog readership increased 65 percent between January and December 2009 with Twitter attracting a total of 480 followers (with numbers increasing daily).
In addition, the TMG Due Diligence White Paper B2B campaign also produced hard-hitting results for the company. The white paper — which focused on the “how-to’s” of vendor management with the option to download a free Request for Proposal (RFP) — exceeded its RFP submissions goal by 216%. As a result, TMG was able to raise awareness of a critical issue within the credit union industry, while enhancing brand awareness and increasing lead generation among key prospects in target markets.
“It is our goal at TMG to not simply participate in the conversation, but to lead it. The Due Diligence campaign was the perfect opportunity to take an important issue in the industry and to be the conversation leader, while at the same time providing a valuable tool (sample RFP) to streamline the due diligence process,” commented Brian Scott, vice president of Sales for TMG.
Established by the AMA, the Nova Awards are designed to recognize quality marketing programs that achieve great results. Competitors for the awards range from small businesses to Fortune 500 companies. The Nova Awards are held annually each May.
